Property Accountant

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join Broad Street’s team. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for managing and executing the timely and accurate financial reporting of day to day operations of assigned properties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Yardi accounting system
    • Account for and/or record all transactions for assigned properties
    • Ensure the accuracy of cash receipts and accounts payable postings
    • Review and approve AP invoices using an online workflow software
    • Produce general ledgers, operating reports and other financial reports
  • Prepare all financial reports for the property
    • Review and verify accuracy of reports, budgets, reforecasts and variance analysis
    • Coordinate with Lease Admin, Property Manager, and Asset Manager
    • Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
    • Provide financial analysis to the Accounting Supervisor as requested
    • Submit reporting to Lender or Third Party Owner on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS in Accounting, or similar degree
  • 1-3 years real estate accounting and/or an accounting degree
  • Inter-company accounting experience
  • General ledger accounting and reconciliation work
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Financial statement review and preparation
  • Working knowledge of budgeting process a plus

  • Understands the “bigger picture” of the accounting process

Leasing Associate - Denver, CO

Retail Leasing Associate - Bethesda, MD

Position Description:

We are seeking an entrepreneurially driven individual, interested in expanding their career in the commercial real estate industry, with a focus on our growing 2 million square foot In-House Retail portfolio.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Take an active role on new leases and renewals
  • Assess market conditions, market terms and conditions
  • Develop, foster and implement marketing for vacant space
  • Grow database of retailers and brokers
  • Build relationships with existing retail tenants
  • Work collaboratively with BSR executive team, asset management and property management teams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of Commercial RE brokerage, Landlord representation, or retail leasing a plus
  • Maryland, Virginia or DC real estate license
  • Self Discipline
  • Great organization
  • Presentation Skills
  • Financial Acumen
  • Strong Negotiating Skills
  • Working knowledge of the Retail real estate industry
  • Self Starter and entrepreneurial by nature
  • Bachelor's degree from Accredited University
  • Proficient in programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint
